    Description

    Antique 20s silk and satin rayon nightgown.  This gown is absolutely beautiful. It is in fab shape for its age.  The seams are pinked.  There are no holes.  Ties in the back.  One tie is more pink and one more peach... I find that interesting.  I think this was custom made or homemade.  There are little satin ribbons running through lace on the sleeves and bodice creating such a lovely look.  Empire waist.  Ties in the back.  This reminds me so much of gowns worn on Downton Abby.  The fabric on the satin part is blotchy in spots.  I did not notice until I took it outside to photograph.  There is a photo of the worst section which is lower part of the front.  You can see that is it lighter.  There are other areas where the fabric is more peach in some areas and more pink in other.  It is almost like some of the color came out when it was washed at some point.  I have no idea but it is still beautiful, wearable and has history.  Is it perfect?  Certainly not due to age and wear but it is still is great shape and has many more years to go.  (MM)
